Decline of 2011

The time has come to bid adieu to 2011 and welcome 2012 with open arms. I always heard from parents, teachers, mentors that do what you want to do for Time flies. I used to wonder how could time fly? It aint a bird or a plane. But I came to my senses and experienced it this year. Can't remember how this year flew by. It feels as if 2011 began just a week back. This year brought about a lot of experiences - both good & bad, thus addressed as experiences. Tout ensemble, my gratitude to those experienced which made me transform into a person I am today and I am very Happy this way. Am pretty sure its not just me, you also wet through a great deal of experiences and changes.

As is articulated, "What happens, happens for the best". So lets snug the dome of 2011 with delight and thanking all the significant ones for their support and criticism. With the decline of night, comes up the morning sun. With the decline of 2011, start afresh happily in 2012. Moreover 2012 is a year of Mysteries -- the Mayan Mysteries. So lets give ourselves and our significant ones the best and lets enter 2012 with the motto to live life to the fullest and strive towards our goal in full strength. Lets unravel the mysteries.

So lets arise out of our slumber and miseries and handclasp with 2012. Wishing all my readers a very Happy and Prosperous 2012.

A New Friend

Socializing is good especially if you meet the right person. This poem is about my meeting a new friend.

I knew something was special today,
My heart was bouncing all the way,
Something interesting was bound to happen,
These were thoughts which made my mind open.

After a tiring morning..
Was looking for some fun,
And I met someone,
Felt like a winter sun.

First impression is the last,
As the saying goes,
Time passed too fast,
Seems like Ripun crows.

I met someone who became my friend,
But my friend doesnt like the traditional trend.
It felt as if we had the potential,
Only if we could hold on and just be strong.

Knowing you're not alone,
During the hardships,
For besides you through and through,
Is where a friend always is.

Cheers my friend !

How Fortunate We Are...!

I re-realized it today that we are amongst the fortunate ones. This post is about my visit to Sparsh Balgram - A Home to Children Afflicted by HIV/AIDS of the age group 3 to 13. Though this wasn't my first visit to the orphanage but each time I visit there, it moistens my eyes seeing those little angels going through a lot without even knowing that they are shackled deep into it.
We often say and believe that children are the angels of the Almighty. We all love them but rarely do children on the streets inspire love especially the ones ailing with HIV/AIDS. These children have none to heat milk for them, comb their hair, help them study, calm their fears or wipe their tears. They aren't lucky as we all are. Despite all odds, odds that would break ordinary people, Mr. Mahesh Yadav and his wife run this NGO ank take care that these children have the same opportunities as what we have as far as possible.
After seeing the world around you, you get to know how precious your life is and how blessed you are. I would urge all my readers to please visit this place atleast once and please contribute as much as you can in whatever form to help them and to give them a few moments of happiness and joy. They deserve it even more than we do. So please help them in any way you can.
As an ending note I'd say Hats Off to Mr. Mahesh Yadav and his wife for doing what they are doing for these children. For more details about Sparsh Balgram, please visit http://www.sparshbalgram.com
Always remember the Life we have is worth too much. Don't play with it. Make the best out of it..

Express It Your Way !

Here I am back from the hibernation, to scribble a new post. The most important thing it to know how to express. Failing to do so you might not be able to tell the next person what you feel. Expressions are the voice of our Feelings.

There are numerous ways of expressing a thought....
But Express It Your Way!

Scribble down the names of places that you have dreamt of visiting. Draw your favorite cartoon or write a poem or something that makes you happy. Illustrate the unexpressed feelings. Doodle when you are bored, write furiously when inspired or scribble to check if you remember the alphabets in sequence.

Don't ever take pressures in expressing. Your performance is all about how well you express yourself. So Go Ahead....

Express It Your Way !

A piece of my HE(ART) ..

Here's a small but heart touching poetry I wrote few months back.

"Pluck Yew" -- A History Worth Knowing

Earlier in my childhood days(perhaps when I was in 6th), my History professor tried her best to convince me that History was worth knowing but failed in her attempt :P Today I finally have realized the importance of History and believe it or not History sounded quite amazing and interesting when I came across an article about "pluck yew".
Today, showing middle finger is a common gesture even to say hello like one of my friend does. Well the history behind Middle Finger is what "pluck yew" is all about. I feel compelled to write about it in my space.
Before the Battle of Agincourt in 1415, the French, anticipating victory over the English, proposed to cut off the middle finger of all the captured English soldiers. Without middle finger it would be impossible to draw the renowned English longbow and therefore they would be incapable of fighting in future. The famous English longbow was made of the native English Yew tree, and the act of drawing longbow was known as 'plucking the yew' or 'pluck yew'. Since 'pluck yew' is rather difficult to say, the difficult consonant cluster in the beginning has gradually changed to a labiodentals fricative "F" and thus the word is often used in conjunction with the one-finger-salute! It is also because of the pheasant feathers on the arrows used with longbow that the symbolic gesture is known as 'giving the bird'. It is still an appropriate salute to the French today.
Isn't it amazing to know "pluck yew" is what the middle finger gesture means.. And yew thought yew knew all about 'plucking' !! :D

What does not Kill you Makes you Stronger !

Here I am on a tryst with my destiny(you can call that for fun). I am challenging myself in one more field - the field of writing. I always wanted to blog so here I am. Just to start with I'd like to tell a bit about my present situation. I got loads of assignments, journals, projects to submit but hell with that am writing my first ever post in my blog :)
To come to the point a little information to share - If you lead a life well planned, that's good but if all your plans work, your life's a Fixed Cricket Match ! Think of it this way that you are a mountain climber and you have planed a visit to a certain peak. Now, the first time was thrilling as you knew nothing that would come in path but each time after the first you knew exactly where you will find a water source, where exactly you should spend the night, etc. That would definitely be safe but not thrilling or exciting. Instead if you try out a new climbing point, you will discover a new path, new flora and fauna. It'd be like a blind date at rendezvous. It would be a lot more fun. In case your plans don't work out do not check the google maps or ask your professor. Just climb on..!
Trying out new techniques, new styles, new outlooks.. it won't kill you. Most of the unwanted circumstances would generate a scene of embarrassment but would definitely make you stronger. The problems in your life, the shackles of  troubles will generate a body apt to produce more adrenalin and hence be more stronger. So, what does not Kill you makes you Stronger !
